About this TQUK Level 2 Distressed Behaviour in Children Course

Our TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children course is designed to explain the reasons why children can become distressed. The course covers legislation that underpins caring for children as well as mental health issues that can contribute to such behaviour. Qualification

To gain the full TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Distressed Behaviour in Children certification you will need to submit and pass all of the tutor marked assignments. • Understand how to mitigate distressed behaviour in children
• Understand when physical intervention should be used and the importance of using physical intervention safely when a child is displaying distressed behaviour

Unit 3: Distressed behaviour and mental health in children

This unit will explain some of the most common mental health problems and how they are recognised, with various signs and symptoms for each one being identified.

Unit 4: Distressed behaviour and learning disabilities in children

This unit will explain some of the most common learning disabilities and how they are identified, as well as various behavioural characteristics for each one.

Unit 5: Distressed behaviour, sensory processing conditions and autism spectrum conditions in children

In this unit, we will examine the characteristics of autism spectrum condition (ASC) and sensory processing condition (SPC) and how they can impact the behaviour of a child.

• Understand the characteristics of sensory processing conditions and autism spectrum conditions
• Understand how to support children with an autism spectrum condition displaying distressed behaviour
• Understand how to support children with a sensory processing condition displaying distressed behaviour

Unit 6: Legislation and guidance for an individual providing support to children displaying distressed behaviour

In this unit, you will learn about the legislation that underpins support approaches, human rights of children and inclusion.

• Understand legislation relevant to distressed behaviour in children
• Understand wider support available when working with children who display distressed behaviour
• Understand how UK legislation can support the human rights of children who display distressed behaviour

This course can be taken over a 12 month period but you can complete it as fast or as slowly as you wish.
